Gross weight rating

The gross weight rating (GWR) is the maximum vehicle weight which may not be exceeded allowing for the permitted axle loads and the legally stipulated maximum limit. The gross weight rating is calculated from the vehicle unladen weight (vehicle + body) and the weight of the load (payload).
